Poorly Formed Concrete Transitions Into a Parshall Flume

Poorly Formed Concrete Transitions Into a Parshall Flume

Description

Poor field-formed concrete transitions into / out of a small fiberglass Parshall Flume.  On the inlet (left), the transition doesn't sufficiently condition the flow as it enters the manhole before it goes into the flume. The result is excessive turbulence and poor flow measurement.

Openchannelflow offers both traditional stub end connections as well as curved (staged) end connections for Parshall Flumes.  Staged end connections are curved to fit the flume exactly to the wall of the manhole, without the need for field forming.
