Description
A 6-inch stainless steel USGS Portable Parshall Flume. The Portable Parshall Flume was designed to be just that - portable, with less weight and lower construction cost. The flume follows the standard layout of the Parshall Flume, only deleting the diverging energy recovery section. USGS Portable and regular Parshall Flumes use the same discharge equations under free-flow conditions.
USGS Portable Parshall Flumes are almost exclusively used to measure surface water flows.
