USAID | Haiti - Irrigation and Water Management Training

USAID | Haiti - Feed the Future / WINNERIn March 2014, Feed the Future West / WINNER organized a training for farmers in the Cul-de-Sace plain of Haiti on the use of irrigation canals with floodgates, flow measurement, flow calculation methods, and other irrigation techniques.

The two-day training, lead by Dr. Brian Boman of the University of Florida, was to introduce local farmers associations to water resource management.

As part of the training, a variety of Trapezoidal flumes manufactured by Openchannelflow were used to demonstate flow measurement techniques. Openchannelflow is proud to have been able to provide some small assistance in the implementation of the program and we actively encourage you to learn more about Feed the Future West and their support of the people of Haiti.
