Years ago the Thompson Pipe & Steel Company in Denver, CO manufactured knock-down Parshall flumes for use in water rights / irrigation flow measurement – selling quite a number throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Thompson has long since exited this market and now many of those flumes are now coming up on the end of their useful lives.
Till fill this need, Openchannelflow offers heavy duty galvanized steel Parshall flumes for water rights / irrigation users. The flumes are fabricated out of stout 11 gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel sheet – capable of handling the worst that nature and livestock can throw at it. All seams and bends have cold galvanization coatings for increased corrosion protection. To maintain maximum stiffness and to ensure dimensional accuracy, structural angle welded to the sidewalls and floor of all but the smallest flumes.
Thick wall construction, coupled with welded box-frame ribs, means that these Parshall flumes have minimal flex and won’t bend like lighter weight flumes during installation. All formed and welded construction means that there are no fiddly pieces to assemble in the field and there are no seams to leak or maintain once the flume is together.
Dig it! Drop it! Done!
