Modular Fiberglass Equipment Shelters with Removable Roofs

In applications where equipment is large or cumbersome, it can be easier to remove / service the equipment by lifting it straight up and out! For those applications, Openchannelflow offers a removable roof option for our larger fiberglass equipment shelters.

Modular construction means that some (or all) of the roof can be removed to allow access to the equipment.

In applications where the roof needs to be removable, the shelter is provided with both side and roof mounted lifting eyes. The side mounted lifting eyes are intended to aid the customer is moving / setting the shelter in place, while the roof mounted lifting eyes are to aid in the removal of the roof panels.

When removed in panels, it is important to reseal the connection when the previously removed panels are set back in place. Also, where only some of the roof panels are to be removed, the remaining roof panels are permanently bolted to the shelter walls to maximize the shelter’s strength and watertightness.

Also, when designed to be removable in whole or in part, the top cap typically over the center roof panels is omitted as it will flex considerably as the roof is removed / handled / reinstalled.
