To give our shelter / building and enclosure products superior strength and dimensional stability, Openchannelflow has developed proprietary X-Web technology.

Each wall or roof section is composed of insulating foam core section.  Around these X-Web construction structurally bonds the inner and outer fiberglass surfaces of the piece.  The result is that each core section is an encapsulated cell – isolated from each other.  In the event that a shear force is applied to any cell, X-Web minimizes the propagation of the force into the surrounding cells. 

Our X-Web buildings, shelters, and enclosures do not flex or distort like non-X-Web competitors.  This makes them suitable for high wind and snow load applications. 

Where additional reinforcement is desired for severe locations, structural reinforcement panels can also be encapsulated into the ceiling and walls.  Likewise, where equipment mounting is desired, OSB panels can be molded-in.  Mounting reinforcements are full wall, floor-to-ceiling.  No more worrying if you made the panel large enough or it if is in the right location!

X-Web construction makes Openchannelflow fiberglass shelters and enclosures considerably lighter than stick-built fiberglass competitors.  Also, unlike wood framed, fiberglass panel buildings, Openchannelflow fiberglass shelts don’t rely on an embedded wooden framework to support the walls or roof.  This means that wall / roof penetrations aren’t susceptible to warp, rot, decay, or insect infestation due to encapsulated wood.
