Stands to Elevate Flow Metering H Flumes
H Flumes are a versatile and accurate way to measure open channel flows. They provide low end accuracy while at the same time providing large turn down ratios. They also pass granular solids well.
They do, however, require a free-spilling discharge in order to operate. It is this need to have a free-spilling discharge that can limit their use in industrial applications. To help solve this problem and provide additional height for free-discharge to occur, H flumes can be mounted on stands.

Stands allow the flow out of the flume to either freely spill off or be directed into a discharge catchment structure (drop box) for piping away from the flume. Drop boxes can be designed to allow piping to leave horizontally (left, right, or inline with the flume. Drop boxes can also accommodate vertical discharges as well as multiple or proportional discharge pipes.

Mounting stands can de designed to be free standing - with or without leveling legs - or they can attach to a support structure as needed. Mounting stands can also be an economical way to raise a weir box above grade.
