Packaged Metering Manhole Equipment Shelves

At flow monitoring stations where a Packaged Metering Manhole is used to measure / sample a flow stream, the flow monitoring and sampling equipment is usually housed either in a dedicated equipment shelter or in a nearby building. There are times, however, when neither option is practical. For those times, Openchannelflow offers Manhole Equipment Shelves.

The most common use of a Manole Equipment Shelf in a Packaged Metering Manhole is the storage of a portable composite sampler – typically in a H-20 highway loading manhole where locating the sampler away from the manhole isn’t practical.

Openchannelflow Manhole Equipment Shelves are unique in that they are hinged to fold-up out of the operator’s way when not in use - either manually or through the use of stainless steel gas struts.

While not intended as a step, Openchannelflow Manhole Equipment Shelves can be designed to allow operators to use them to enter / exit the manhole. This can be useful when the manhole is shallow enough not to have a ladder. In applications where the shelf is not rated for this secondary use, a No Step warning label is applied.
