Underside View of a Trapezoidal Flume Attached Stilling Well
Description
An underside view of an attached stilling well on a Trapezoidal Flume. The angled wall of the Trapezoidal Flume essentially makes an ATTACHED stilling well a DETACHED one - albeit one that is connected to the flume.
Stilling wells are used to provide a quiet area free from any turbulence in the flume from which flow can be measured. They also provide a convenient location to mount water quality parameter probes.
